Lubec Attractions |
 |
|
The town of Lubec is situated at the eastern most
point of the United States. The lighthouses at
West Quoddy Head and on Campobello, the Canadian
island which features F.D. Roosevelt's summer home,
are about 10 minutes away. The Lubec area
abounds in glorious nature, so outdoor activities such
as hiking, bird, whale and seal watching, sea
kayaking, sketching and painting, stargazing, and
beachcombing are close at hand. A golf course
and tennis courts are nearby. Photographers love
the beautiful light. Everyone marvels at the
dramatic Bay of Fundy tides.
A wonderful feature of summer life in Lubec is
SummerKeys, the music vacation for adults founded by
pianist and teacher Bruce Potterton. Students
come from all over the United States and other parts of the
world to work on their music. Every Wednesday
night there are free public concerts played by faculty
and guest artists.
